Mg Astor Teased: The next generation MG Astor has teased ahead of its global launch. It is known as MG ZS globally. Interestingly the new generation of Astor or ZS can feature hybrid technology. A recent spy video showed Hybrid+ badging at the rear.
What’s new in the 2025 MG Astor?
The updated MG Astor Hybrid+ will feature a self charging hybrid system. Like the system found in the MG3, that system will also run on the Atkinson cycle with a petrol engine and an electric motor. The new hybrid system uses a 1.83 kWh NCM lithiu ion battery pack.
Design updates
Apart from new hybrid powertrain, the MG Astor also get a comprehensive design overhaul. The compact SUV will now get an sporty look similar to some global models like the MG3 and MG HS. Key features of the exterior change includes a new front fascia with new LED headlights and grille, as well as newly designed bumpers and air intakes.
Updated alloy wheels, tail lights, and rear bumpers are also part of the updated exterior styling. The company has said that the MG Astor has also received chassis refinements to improve driving dynamics.
Interior and features
The MG Astor is expected to get an dual screen setup for the infotainment and instrument cluster. Other expected features of the updated MG Astor include power adjustable front seats, 360 degree camera system, wireless charging, and ADAS with new functionalities.
The updated MG Astor or MG ZS is expected to be launched in the European market in September 2023. While the launch in inadia is expected in 2025. Like the current model, updated MG Astor will also compete with other SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and even Citroen Basalt and Tata Curvv in the compact SUV segment.
