Maruti Suzuki has recently launched a new variant of its popular hatchback Swift CNG. The new Swift has been present in the Indian and international markets since 2004. The fourth generation facelift of this famous hatchback was launched in the Indian market earlier this year. The price of its new CNG variant has just been revealed.

One of the rivals of the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG is the Tata Tiago CNG. Here we are comparing these two CNG hatchbacks and telling you which is the better option. On CNG mode, the engine produces 69 bhp at 5,700 rpm and a peak torque output of 102 Nm at 2,900 rpm. The gearbox is a 5-speed manual. On the other hand, the Tata Tiago CNG gets a 1,200 cc Revotron petrol engine with iCNG.

This engine produces 85 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 3,300 rpm in petrol mode. And in CNG mode, the Tiago produces 72 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 95 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The Tiago gets two gearbox options including a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT.

Which gives more mileage

The claimed fuel efficiency of the Swift CNG is around 31 km/kg. While the mileage of the Tiago CNG is around 26.5 km/kg.

What is the safety rating?

The Tiago has received a 4-star rating in the GNCAP test while the Swift was given 3-star in the Euro NCAP test. Both hatchbacks get dual airbags, ABS with EBD and reverse parking sensor. Tiago also gets stability control.

Which is cheaper in terms of price?

The price of the new Maruti Swift CNG ranges from Rs 8.19 lakh to Rs 9.19 lakh (ex-showroom). While Tiago CNG comes from Rs 7.39 lakh to Rs 8.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
